Week 7 Flag Football Team Maroon Team Maroon vs. West Chicago
Wildcats – White
Another outstanding game by The Maroon Chargers this week! Maroon has
really gelled as a team these past weeks, and it sure showed against The
West Chicago Wildcats. All team members had a great game, both on offense
and defense! Offensively, Mitchell Canalas, Ben Hansen, Justin Hull, Jacob
Uhlmann, Nathan Hull and Ethan Pugh had great runs setting up scores by
Nathan Garrison, Jack Luchetti, Bradley Bode and Grant Meador. But Maroon
wasn't done yet. They snatched so many flags that the Wildcats left with
their tails between their legs and no runs into the end zone. Most of the
Maroon Team was able to grab flags, including: Mitchell Canales, Connor
Dunfee, Justin Hull, and Jacob Ulhmann. We will be traveling this week to
West Chicago taking on the blue team.

| Week 6 87# P10 Green
TCC Cavish Green, 6 vs. TCC Gold, 25
Hoping that a strong week of practice would translate to victory against
the Gold Team, the Cavish Green Team took to the air with an inspired game
plan on Saturday morning. After falling behind 6-0 on the opening series,
the Green Team responded with a pass attack offense that featured Ryan
Piontek trying to connect with receivers, Jeremy Baranauskas, Ben Bohanek
and Kyler Cavish. Unable to mount a drive, Team Green’s “D” took the field
and quickly shut down the Gold Team with a crunching hit by Michael Davis
resulting in a fumble and recovery by Tyler Hahn. Team Green’s offense
blended a good mixture of run and pass plays during ensuing possessions,
however, were held off the scoreboard by a swarming Gold Team defense. In
spite of BIG open field and gang tackling by Jack Lewis, Sean Galle and Dan
Daley, Team Gold was able to take advantage of defensive miscues resulting
in two huge runs and a 19-0 halftime lead.
Entering the 3rd quarter, Team Green was determined to hold down Team
Gold and prevent any further scores. The defense, anchored by Kain Donohoo,
Matthew Conroy, Ryan Piontek and Ben Bohanek, erupted for several tackles in
the backfield setting back Team Gold with big losses. Team Green took
advantage of good field position with a dominating march down the field.
Impressive scampers by Kain Donohoo and Kyler Cavish culminated with a hard
charging touchdown run by Jeremy Baranauskas through the heart of the Team
Gold defense. Team Green quickly retained possession of the pigskin after
the kick off was mishandled and pounced on by Ryan Piontek. With time
winding down, Ryan Piontek connected on a 25 yard “Bomb” to Ben Bohanek,
however, the drive stalled at Team Gold’s 22 yard line after an
interception. A Team Gold touchdown with only seconds remaining resulted in
Team Green being on the short end of a 25-6 final score.

Week 5 87# B10 Black
Tri-City Chargers 20 vs. Lake
Zurich Flames 0
The Bantam Big 10 team
traveled to Lake Zurich this past weekend and defeated the Flames 20-0.
Getting it started for the Chargers was Pat "The Bullet" Griffin who
returned the LZ punt 65 yds for one of his 2 TD's on the day. Mikey "The
General" Hohensee also caught the Flames snoozing when he broke free for
our 3rd score and Michael "The Boot" Cooney put one through the
uprights for the PAT. On Offense we were able to move the ball in the second
half eating up valuable time with meat grinding runs by Nico "The Hammer"
Piaskowy & Thomas "The Train" Schroeder. Making some nice blocks on
the line was the "Black Angus Beef Boys" - Westin "High Tower"
Wiseman, Jon "The Glove" Sotirakopulos, Dean "The Ravioli"
Arriviello and Jack "Big Foot" Douglas. Making his debut at right
guard was Alec "The Cat" Champine who did a nice job preventing
penetration in the middle. Defensively we were stingy - not allowing a first
down all day. LB's Peter "The Stinger" Ferraro & Lucas "The
Truck" Segobiano did a fine job filling gaps and the D-Line led by
Michael "The Jackal" Jaffe, Tommy "The Snake" Laduzinsky,
"Slippery" Tyler Storms, Nate "The Beast" Jimenez, and Spencer
"The Mayor" Olson doused the Flames of LZ. The stood like Firefighters
spaying high powered hoses and washing away the Flames attack. DB's Mason
"The Missile" Alberts, Riley "The Torpedo" Anderson did a nice
job securing the perimeter and Chris "The Golden Boy" Edlund played
tough in his debut at safety knocking away several passes. The Chargers
improve to 5-0. Week 6 the Chargers return home for a showdown with a good
Grayslake team. Please come and Cheer us on! GO CHARGERS!!!! |
Week 5 Bantam 87
Tri City Black Tolle 19 - Tri City Purple Donatelli 0
Team Tolle and team Donatelli fought in a rivalry game this week and it did
not disappoint. For the third straight game team Tolle kicked off and saw
the defense step up. The defense got a fumble recovery on the opening series
and gave the ball quickly to the offense. The Offense came out with Johnson,
Tolle, Dumas, Nick Kortan, Thiesse, and Anderson anchoring the offensive
line. While Robbie Kortan, Dixon, Buetow, Preston, and Hughes lined up as
the quarterback, receivers, and running backs for team Tolle. The offense
was limited to no points in the first half by a good Donatelli defense.
Team Tolle's defensive line consisting of Preston, Sanders, Johnson, and
Robbie Kortan with Tolle and Anderson having outside containment. The
defense came together with Dixon, Callaghan, Mitchell, Hughes, and Hunter
playing the linebackers and safety for the black team. The Purple team did
not score in the first half either, leaving a 0 - 0 score at the end of the
half.
The second half saw team Tolle get on the board early with a long drive
capped off by a 35 yard run by Preston keyed by blocks from Hughes and
Johnson. After another impressive stand by team Tolle's defense, the offense
marched down the field to the 6 yard line but failed to score. The defense
came out ready to go and the purple team would wind up losing 5 yards on 4
plays. That series saw Sanders, Dumas, and Callaghan control the middle of
the line for team Tolle. With the ball on the 1 yard line Robbie Kortan
handed the ball to Buetow for the second score of the game. The extra point
by Buetow saw the lead increase to 13 - 0. Both teams played well after this
point and the ball went back and forth. Then with 2 minuets left in the game
the offensive line, along with good blocking by Dixon and Preston on the
outside, opened a hole for Buetow for a 50 yard td run that sealed the
victory for team Tolle. A team effort on both sides of the ball saw good
teamwork and good coaching.
A great win for team Tolle which saw their record improve to 5-1 heading
into the last game of the season.
Go Chargers!

Week 7 97LB AFC WHITE (Estrada)
Estrada (White) - 7 vs. Wilcox (Black) - 6
IT HAPPENED! Stellar play on both sides of the ball earned our White team
victory over a talented and well-coached opponent. The tone of the game was
set on the first drive by the hard-hitting play of our linebackers and
defensive line. The line of Jack Nitti, Austin Gift, Abe Swanson and Jack
Morgan set ‘em up, and gap-plugging linebackers Joel Hardy, Matt Julseth and
Kyle King knocked ‘em down. Morgan recovered a fumble and we got the start
we needed. The offensive line of Trace Debord (C), Kevin Weaver (G), Aidan
Flynn (G), Cody Johnson (T), and Matt Julseth (T), along with ends Joel
Hardy and Kyle King, continued their strong performance from previous weeks,
opening holes for our backs. Austin Gift scored a touchdown on the first
drive and Alex Drumheller added the important extra point. We made our
opponent work on their next drive, with corners Chris Galena and Drumheller
forcing action back to the inside, but two fourth down conversions helped
them sustain the drive and eventually score a touchdown. In one of many BIG
plays of the game, Matt Julseth and his stingy defensive partners shot the
gaps and stuffed the extra point attempt for lost yardage. After our stalled
drive which ended about 3 inches short of a first down, our opponent went
back on the attack, and busted a long breakaway run. Safeties Nick Funk and
Charlie Downing ran the play down to make the touchdown-saving tackle. This
proved critical, as Kyle King popped the ball out a few plays later and Alex
Drumheller recovered, leaving the score 7-6 at the half. We got a scare to
start the second half, with our opponents recovering an onside kick.
However, Joel Hardy delivered a solid hit on fourth down to give us the
ball. Backs Gift and Drumheller took over from there, making phenomenal
moves, enduring tough hits, keeping the chains moving, and eating the time
on the clock. The game was sealed with a fourth down perfect pass from Jack
Morgan to Joel Hardy … GO CHARGERS!!!! |
Week 7 97#
P10 Gold
Tri City
Chargers (Gold)-12 vs. Tri City Chargers (Purple)-0
Gold’s
game versus 97# Purple may have lacked possessions by both teams but it
certainly didn’t lack any excitement. It started with Purple fumbling
Brian Baumgartners kickoff with Ryan St. Peter recovering it. Gold’s
offense of William Matthews, Aaron Housenga, Brian Baumgartner, Brendan
Feichter, Keegan Hughes, Nicholas Sherman, Griffin Bellano William Gibson,
Liam Kelly and Matthew Peruba had a nice ten play drive capped off with
Ryan Skibinski passing 10 yards to Matt Peruba for the first TD. With the
point after failing due to a penalty, the score was Gold 6, Purple 0 early
in the first quarter. Then it was the Defense’s turn of Griffin Bellano,
Ryan St. Peter, Nick Anastasia, Tristan Bolin, Jon Chap man, Dominic
Cosentino, Nicholas Sherman, Matthew Peruba, Ryan Skibinski, Liam Kelly
and William Gibson. Purple had an 11 play drive of their own but resulted
in no points because of spectacular open field tackles by Matthew Peruba.
Gold took over, had a few plays before ending the 1st half. 2nd
half started with an onside kick by purple that they were able to recover
starting their drive on Gold’s 45. After giving up only one 1st
down Gold’s defense was able to stop them on downs taking over on their
own 22 yd. Line. Gold’s offense had another long drive taking lots of
time off the clock. Gold’s defense came out and stopped them after four
plays to bring the Offense back on the field with 5:19 left in the 4Q.
The very first play Ryan Skibinski ran for a 25 yd TD to make the score
12-0. Purple then ended up with the ball on their own 45. Gold’s great
defensive tackles and cornerbacks stopped them once again with Nick
Anastasia and his open field tackle. Matthew Peruba sealed the shut out
victory with an interception with a great block by Nicholas Sherman on the
return. The offense followed up with running the clock out.
It was another evenly matched game that Gold was able to stay
focused and play as a team to remain undefeated. Great Job Gold!!

| Soto-6 vs. Wells-6
This past Saturday's game was an exhibition of a pure "Dog Fight" between
the two teams. It was like watching a ping-pong match between two world
champions! The offense of Dylan Morgan, Jack Glavin, Brennen Hansen, Jackson
Brummel, Ryan Anderson, Nicholas Stich, Isaiah Baerenklau, Justin Fischbach,
Chase Raap and Jordan Soto had to grind hard for every inch of yardage. It
was a frustrating day as the opposing team shot through gaps and thwarted
any chance of the usually fearsome combination of QB Nathan Sablowski and
his talented backfield. When defensive stops were needed the most, players
like Joshua Kibler, Liam Yeargin, Dylan Morgan, Jack Glavin, Jackson Brummel,
Alec Keating, Isaiah Baerenklau, Justin Fischbach, Nathan Sablowski, Chase
Raap, Nicholas Stich, and Jordan Soto stepped up and swarmed their opponent
like angry hornets chasing a rabbit covered in honey. After an impressive
showing on both sides of the ball, the game went into overtime-no score. The
opposition came to the field with ambition and a pass to score the first
touchdown of the game. However, our defense was able to hold them with no
extra point scored. With their heads focused on the game, the offense took
the field determined to score, QB Sablowski handed off off to Alec Keating
and away he went, took it to the house with ease to tie up the score. Unable
to make it to the endzone for the xtra point, the game will be put in the
tie column. An excellent showing of determination and heart by Soto's Silver
team. Leading the team in tackles were Dylan Morgan (7), Isaiah Baerenklau
(8) and Nathan Sablowski (8). Many strong arm blocks were made by Joshua
Kibler. Soto's Silver machine looks forward to taking on their next opponent
next week. GO CHARGERS!!! |
Week 7- 97# House AFC BLACK
Team Griffin-24 vs. Team Chahino-0
Starting on a perfect football day, Team
Griffin had Druck kick-off this great game deep into Chahino territory. Our
formidable opponents were off to a strong offensive drive, when pressure
from Novotney forced an interception caught by Griffin and a 30 yd. T.D.
run. After an unscoring long offensive drive, Team Griffin's defense takes
the field to have Lambert come away with another pick for a 22yd. T.D. run
on the last play of the half. Team Griffin came out second half hungry for
some offensive scoring, and wasted no time with Rein & Macaluso dominating
the front lines along with help from Stoffel,Caprini,Darby, & Lambert
resulting in a handoff by Novotney to a T.D. run by Druck. Chahino's
offense takes the field again, but with our outsides being protected by
Ross, Macaluso, Reed, & Mason, they were forced to run inside & off-tackle
resulting in being stuffed by Jackson, Caprini, Rein, & Darby , with
backup by Griffin, Novotney, Barron's endless pursuit & Lambert
protecting. The thunder was once again dominating the field leading Druck
all the way in for another long T.D. run. This was a great game, great
opponents with awesome sportsmanship, resulting in a great day in football

Week 7 97# Stallmann - Gold
Stallmann - 13 vs Dase - 13
It was a little too much fun and not quite enough football during the team's
homecoming, the game ended in a tie.
The whole team was there mixing it up on and off the field: #54 Brady B-Dog
Anderson, #3 Justin Speedy Galante
#36 Sean O Gally Gallagher, #99 Ryan The Bruiser Goodmiller, #24 Slammin
Sammy Grohe, #51 Clark The Bear Hageman
#62 Jake The Snake Kappel, #34 Johnny Laces Luna, #80 Graham Spark Owen, #7
Big Bad Bobby Pierce,
#11 Jay JJ Stallmann, #16 Matthew Townsie Townsend, #44 Cole The Beast Weede,
#29 Alec The Wall Welter,
#1 Tyler Interceptor Welter and last but not least #20 Miles Smiley
Williams.
A few players deserve a special mention. Miles Williams had a huge tackle
stopping Team Dase from a big play
that would have ended the game. Sam Grohe was out half the game with an
ankle injury but managed to get back in the game
and score 2 TDs in overtime. Ryan Goodmiller had a key stop holding the
score to 13-13 as well as other great plays
including a fumble recovery during the game.
Thanks to Val Grohe and everyone who helped out in making homecoming a big
success.
Next week Gold is looking forward to their game against team Estrada. GO

Week7 97# Rawson
Rawson - 0 vs. Rapp - 25 It was a wonderful sunny Saturday morning
for the Rawson Silver Falcons Homecoming. The families all met to decorate
cars and celebrate the season at hand. After a breakfast of donuts, fruit,
coffee and other beverages we loaded up in our cars and headed to the field
with horns blasting. We have officially proclaimed ourselves Best Homecoming
Parade of 2008. Ah yes, there was a game to be played. The boys ran out on
to the field between their twins. Our opponents Team Rapp proved to be very
challenging. The Silver Falcons had a number of highlights. Will Fredricks
made an excellent catch on a pass from Jake Chantos. Cameron Canales made a
goal line tackle to prevent an extra point. Kyle Duermit, Mario Folino,
Julian Desens, & Chris Holloway had important tackles. Justin Johnson had
one of our longer kickoff returns for the year and Jackson Kemple handled a
punt nicely. Jimmy Fleck, Mike Rawson, Jason Turnbull, Jack Hood, Connor
Williams, Jack Doherty, Peter Esbaugh and Stephen Woodcock all played hard.
The end result was a rather difficult 25-0 loss to Team Rapp. Maybe Krispy
Kremes are not the Breakfast of Champions |

Week 6 107# Team
Leonhard
Tri-City Chargers
Leonhard – 0 vs. Tri-City Chargers Teafoe – 20
To celebrate its
Homecoming, the team played its best game of the season. Although Team
Teafoe was able to score in the opening minutes of the first quarter, the
defense was already flexing its muscle with the hard hitting of Mitch
Davey. On the offensive drive after the touchdown, Chris Impson had an
impressive kick-off return. Good runs by Jake Hlava and Impson plus a
penalty against Teafoe gave us a first down. On the next series, Impson
had a good run but came up short of another first down. When Teafoe took
over, its efforts to score were stymied by the great tackling of Jacob
Gabinski, Kyle Lorenz, Robert Kudlicki, Luke Doncel, Daniel Zielecki, Josh
Leonhard, Tyler Camp, Hlava, Davey, and Impson. Unfortunately, even with
the great defense, Teafoe was able to score at the end of the first half
and again kick for 2 extra points, increasing the score to 14-0. In the
second half, Nathan Ohse gave one of the hardest defensive hits ever seen
in a Chargers game. When Teafoe turned the ball over on downs, the team
was only 30 yards away from a touchdown. Unfortunately, despite an
amazing 16 yard run by Impson, the team could not capitalize on the
opportunity. In the 4th quarter, the defense continued doing an awesome
job highlighted by Gabinski stopping a touchdown by pushing the Teafoe
runner out of bounds. When the ball again got turned over to our offense,
Impson ran for 7 yards on a quarterback sneak. On the next play, however,
a pass was intercepted by Teafoe and run in for a touchdown. The score
remained 20-0 when we blocked Teafoe’s extra point kick. Special mention
to Matthew Weston for his great blocking on the offensive line, to Andrew
Holzapfel who has done a great job as center, and to Luis Martinez who has
moved well into his offensive position. Next week – let’s post a
victory! GO CHARGERS!!

Week 7 - Team Perry 0 vs. Team Kaufman 6
TCC #107 Middleweight
It was a hard fought game on a gorgeous Saturday Homecoming. The team
mom's did a great job organizing quite a spirited beginning to the game with
proper introductions and spirit flowing on the sidelines. Team Perry was
pumped up for their homecoming and excited to get the action started against
Team Kaufman. The defense was tough and didn't allow but 6 points against a
good running and passing team. Unfortunately for the offense, they couldn't
ever quite get a break despite the 6 first downs and 2 completions. The
offense was tough and had some shining moments but in the end we just
couldn't finish. Nick Edlund, Jake Clodi, Kyle Khoury and Anthony Adduci
were pushing their way through the defense on the run to gain quite a few
yards. Jake Clodi, Kyle Khoury and Brock Perry had fewer passes this week
but gained a few yards and 2 completions with the attempts they did have.
Providing good blocking and pass protection for Quarterback Tyler Lovestrand
is DJ Rizzi, Erik Boehmer, Lance Arni, Jacob Asquini, Caleb Sanchez and Luke
Juriga. The defensive ends Charlie Tortorice and Tommie Fink played tough
again as we held them until late in the 3rd quarter when they scored 6
points. Alex Filipos, Ben Strah, Luke Juriga, Tyler Lovestrand, Kyle Khoury,
Brock Perry, Nick Edlund, Matt Fisher, Jake Clodi and Anthony Adduci all
displayed great hitting and tackling to keep Team Kaufman from getting more
yardage. The defense caused a turnover on downs 4 times during the game
which shows how well we stopped their run. On special teams Caleb Sanchez
was kicking off to start the second half. Team Perry Homecoming 2008! |

Week7- 107# Big Ten
Tri-Cities-14 vs. Lake Zurich- 16
The Chargers fought hard this past week, but
lost a close battle to the Flames under the lights in Lake Zurich.
The "Five Henchmen" O-Line of Brandon
Marshall, Matt leone. Alec Jacquot, Matt Meyers, and John Vargyas, owned
the trenches, allowing the Charger offense to move the ball for 170 total
yards, racking up a whopping nine first downs and two touchdowns.
Quarterback Reid Connolly led the air assault as he passed for 60 yards,
including a spectacular 37 yard missile to RB Laren Eustace, and two scud
passes totaling 33 yards to wide receiver TJ Miller. Meanwhile, the triple
threat commandoes Ramon Lopez (TD), Daniel Santacaterina (TD), and Nick
Derr, marched the ball for a combined 110 yards.
Defense also had some standout plays. Ryan
Navigato led the blitz with 6.5 tackles, 3 of them for losses. Anthony
Scaccia and Nick Traxler also spent time wreaking havoc behind enemy
lines. Guerillas Nick Ferraro, Ben Slattery, Johnny Jimenez shell shocked
the Lake Zurich backs, while Mitchell Riggs and Juddy Huxtable carpet
bombed the Flames' receivers.
Through three quarters victory seemed
imminent, but it was not to be. An early fourth quarter Lake Zurich TD
proved to be the final score of the campaign. However, the boys did not go
out without a fight. They surged with a last minute volley, but that was
cut short by the clock.
This week in practice the Chargers will fall
back, regroup, and correct mistakes. This Homecoming Sunday, look for them
to be a force to be reckoned with. Go Chargers!

MISSING WEIGHT #

WEEK 7 112 PURPLE
TC-CHARGERS
112-Purple 14 VS TC-CHARGERS 112 MacMillan 13
The Middleweight
Tri-City team of, JJ Reckards, Grant Schiewe, Bradley Thomas, Scott Robak,
Nick Buseski, Jack Wassel, Sean Chambers, Anthony Lopez, Blake Saltsman,
Will Porteous, Alex Bohanek, Matthew Ceinski, Timothy Roels, Nicholas
Barron and Jesse Martinez, had a phenomenal game against one of the best
teams at our level team MacMillan We were able to survive a close one with
a win of 14-13 which was not decided until the last play of the game. The
offense gained a net 241 yards on 36 plays , while the defense held Team
MacMillan to a positive 118 yards of total offense with about 45 of it on
a pass play at the end of the game. The Purple team took the opening
kickoff and marched down the field with a combination of passing and
running only to be stopped short at the 5 yard line for the 2nd
time in 2weeks. The good news was we pinned team MacMillan deep on their
side of the field. The defense would hold and the Purple offense would
take over and drive down the field and score on a pass play from
quarterback JJ Reckards to tightend Tim Roels who would catch a very
difficult pass from 7 yards out. The Purple team would fail to kick their
first extra point try for the year and remain with a lead of 6-0. Team
MacMillan would respond by driving down the field and scoring a touchdown
of their own for a 6-6 tie. Their extra point attempt was good for a 7-6
lead. Late in the 2nd half the Purple team would mount another
drive from their own 42 yard line for a touchdown with great running by
Sean Chambers, Jack Wassel and Blake Saltsman. Wassel would pound it in
for the last 8 yards for the touchdown and a 12-7 lead. Scott Robak would
kick his first extra point of the year for a 14-7 lead. The two teams
would battle back and forth until late in the game when the referee would
call a fumble on an apparent 1st down by the Purple team will
less than a minute left in the game. Team MacMillan would score on a long
pass play to tighten the score to 14-13. The Purple defense would hold
and prevent the extra point and securing the lead at 14-13 and the win.
Other highlights of the day were a Interception by Scott Robak, a
touchdown saving tackle by Bradley Thomas and quarterback sack by Grant
Schiewe. We continue to improve as a team and we should now be considered
one of the top teams. Keep the faith. Things will get better! Remember:
GREAT
THINGS HAPPEN TO TEAMS THAT BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!! PRACTICE HARD
WIN EASY!!!!!!!!!
Great job Chargers!
