FLAG

Team Maroon vs.
Bartlett Hawks-Grey
Football weather finally arrived for the game
against Bartlett Hawks-Grey! We were surprised to find that many flags
were flying and a lot of them were ours! But that didn't discourage the
Maroon Team, as they were also hungry for flags! The defense got right
to work and made many great plays with flags grabbed by Jack Luchetti,
Bradley Bode, Ethan Pugh and Jacob Uhlmann! The most exciting play of
the game had to be when Grant Meador caught an interception on the last
play of the first half! Great job Grant! The offense was also busy
moving the ball down the field, resulting in two great touchdowns by
Nathan Garrison and Mitchelle Canales. Eric Lovestrand, this week's
feature back, also had many great runs in the game. Next week we are
home against Tri-City Green |

Week 3 08 # Flag Gold
Tri City Chargers Gold vs. Elgin Bears
This weeks game opened
with a slight scare. The Bears first play from scrimmage resulted in a 20
yard run. This run certainly caught the attention of our boys, because
they dug in and played with great intensity the rest of the game. The
Gold Defense consisted of Sweet, Birdsong, El-Sheriff, Mack, Arrambide,
Taylor, Buza, Rupp, and Pantano. They were focused and put constant
pressure on Bears offensive unit. The Gold Offense, however, was not
going to be upstaged. Taylor, Dunklau, Sweet, Little, Domenz, Pantano,
Rupp, Arrambide, and Buza were all outstanding. Little was the featured
back of the week and he made the most of it by rushing for over 50 yards.
If not for a play that was called back, he would have had over 80 yards.
Touchdowns were scored this week by Rupp, Pantano, Little, and Sweet. It
was truly a team effort that resulted in another dominating performance.
Great game!!! 1-2-3
GO GOLD!!!

Week 3 Bantam 87
Tri City Black Tolle 36- Tri City Black/Green Leuer 12
The Black team came back strong this week after a tough loss in week two.
The Black team started off on Defense with a new look front line up with
Callaghan, Dumas on the line with three week vets Johnson, Thiesse and
Kortan. Dixon, Hughes and Preston anchored the interior linebackers while
Tolle and Anderson handled the outside duties. Owen "the head" Hunter played
at strong safety to defend against the pass. Team Leuer was able to strike
first with a quick score, but the Black defense held them out of the end
zone until late in the fourth quarter. This week the big defensive stand
out was Callaghan.leading the team in tackles followed closely by Hughes.
Cody Mitchell was also able to pick off a pass and almost run it back for a
TD.
On the offense side, the Black team was led by a seasoned offense line.
From the right it was Preston, Johnson, Dumas. From the left it was Hughes,
Mitchell and Anderson with LIl' Nick Kortan handling the centering duties.
The Backfield was led by strong blocking from Dixon on the outside and Tolle
on the inside. Kortan ran the offense from the QB position and Buetow
handled the bulk of the ball handling. It was a straightforward offensive
attack.Tolle up the middle, then Buetow around the outside. Buetow broke
free for 4 TD's on the day. Late in the game we saw Dumas, Thiesse and
Callaghan take over on offense to grind the clock down with hard nosed
running. Then Preston stepped into the running back spot, and with time
short on the clocked, popped free up the middle for a 50 yard TD dash.
Next week will be a tough McDonald team facing off in the 4th week of the
regular season. Team Black improves their record to 2-1.
Go Chargers! |
Week 2 87# B10 Black
Tri-City Chargers 18 vs.
Huntley Mustangs 0
The Bantam Big 10 team rolled
to a 2nd victory defeating the Huntley Mustangs 18-0. Offensively we
controlled the line of scrimmage leading to big holes and big runs by Nico
"The Hammer" Piaskowy & Thomas "The Train" Schroeder. Scoring for
the Chargers on long runs was Mikey "The General" Hohensee (65yd
Jaunt) and 2 TD's for Pat "The Bullet" Griffin. None of that was
possible without bone crushing blocks by our O-line. Dean "The Ravioli"
Arriviello, Michael "The Boot" Cooney, Westin "High Tower"
Wiseman opened huge holes, solid blocking by Jon "The Glove"
Sotirakopulos, Jack "Big Foot" Douglas and Chris "The Golden Boy"
Edlund sent the message "we are big and bad and we are coming right at you -
Great job line!. Defensively, we dug our heels in and did not yield a first
down for the 2nd straight week. It was gang tackle left and gang tackle
right, DB's Riley "The Torpedo" Anderson & Mason "The Missile"
Alberts shut down the sweep. Alec "The Cat" Champine knocked away a
deep pass to prevent a Huntley TD. Up front - Tommy "The Snake"
Laduzinsky, Tyler "Slippery" Storms & Michael "The Jackal"
Jaffe created havoc for Huntley. Making Big tackles for the Chargers was
Spencer "The Mayor" Olson, Lucas "The Truck" Segobiano, Nate
"The Beast" Jimenez and Peter "The Stinger" Ferraro. The 2-0
Chargers now prepare for week 3 vs. Libertyville and our homecoming, Please
come and Cheer us on! GO CHARGERS!!!!

Week 3 97LB AFC WHITE (Estrada)
Estrada (White) - 7 vs. Soto (Silver) - 26
Our White team controlled the ball almost the entire second half, with three
sustained drives that consumed most of the clock. The offensive line of
Trace Debord (C), Cade Olinger (G), Aidan Flynn (G), Cody Johnson (T), and
Matt Julseth (T), along with ends Charlie Downing and Joel Hardy, held their
blocks and allowed jitterbugging HB Alex Drumheller to continue to move the
chains. Carries from Austin Gift, Nick Funk and Abe Swanson also went for
solid gains. The third of these drives got us into the End Zone: Quarterback
Jack Morgan threw to Austin Gift for an important Red Zone first down to
give us first and goal, and then snuck the ball in for the score and extra
point. When our offense did not have the ball, Matt Julseth lead a stingy
defense which penetrated the line and made solid tackles. He was joined by
Morgan, Kevin Weaver, Funk, Olinger and Jack Nitti in stuffing the run, and
corners Chris Galena and Swanson who, along with Safety Drumheller, stopped
the passing game and supported the run defense. So we had a really solid
second half, with the exception of allowing a 65-yard end-around to add to
the three long wide-side scores of the first half. Our team is optimistic we
can channel future opposing runners back to the inside of the field where
defensive help will be waiting. We look forward to building on our second
half performance in practice and at next week’s game… GO CHARGERS!!!! |

Week3 97# Rawson Silver
Rawson Silver - 19 vs. Chahino - 0
TEAM =
Together Everyone Achieves More
And what a TEAM performance this was. The Silver Falcons came fired
up and ready to play. The offense came alive in a big way. Michael
Rawson, Cameron Canales, and Jake Chantos all had impressive touchdown
runs. Chris Holloway made a fine pass reception. Jimmy Fleck and Jack
Doherty ran well in the second half. None of this offensive explosion
would have occurred without the power blocking of Stephen Woodcock,
Jackson Kemple, Kyle Duermit and William Fredericks.
The defense proved to be tougher than the Great Wall of China. Julian
Desens, Jason Turnbull and Justin Johnson were frequent visitors to our
opponentʼs backfield. Peter Eshbaugh, Mario Folino, and Jack Hood also
delivered important tackles during the game.
The Rawson Silver Falcons finished the game with a 19-0 victory. We
are looking forward to adding to our winning stream next week.

Week 3 97# Stallmann - Gold
Stallmann - 0 vs Wilcox - 7
Team Gold played a tough opponent and held them to their lowest score so
far this season. The whole defense stepped up big, only allowing 7 points
the whole game. All the boys played hard but #54 Brady Anderson and #1
Tyler Welter were tackling machines. #3 Justin Galante, #7 Bobby Pierce,
#20 Miles Williams, #24 Sam Grohe, #29 Alec Welter, #34 John Luna, and
#99 Ryan Goodmiller all had tackles. On the D-Line #11 Jay Stallmann was
double teamed practically the whole game which helped allow our
linebackers get their tackles. On offense #24 Sam Grohe managed a punt
and a tackle in the same play. Offensively the team managed to get 1st
downs and not make too many mistakes but was unable to break through a
stiff defense with any big plays. Next week Gold will face team Rawson.
GO CHARGERS!!

Week 3 97# P10 Gold
Tri City Chargers (Gold)-6 vs. Tri City Chargers (Black)-0
Gold’s hard work paid off today and they had a fun time winning vs.
Black. After the first tough drive Brian Baumgartner ended up punted to
Black. Gold’s defense of Ryan St. Peter, Tristan Bolin, Nicholas Sherman,
Ryan Skibinski, William Gibson, Nick Anastasia, Dominic Cosentino, Griffin
Bellano, Matthew Peruba, Jon Chapman, and Liam Kelly came out on the field
causing a fumble on the 1st play with “Johnny Chapstic” (aka Jon Chapman)
recovering it. Gold’s defense set the tone for the game and never gave
up. Gold’s Offense of Ryan Skibinski, Matthew Peruba, Brian Baumgartner,
Jon Chapman, William Matthews, Nicholas Sherman, Aaron Housenga, Brendan
Feichter, William Gibson and Liam Kelly came up with a 55 yard TD by
Griffin Bellano. Gold worked together as a team throughout the entire
game. Ryan St. Peter made some great tackles on Defense to let black know
it wouldn’t be easy to get in the end zone. Matthew Peruba had an open
field tackle for a major loss of yards. Gold’s offense had a nice drives
before halftime with Ryan Skibinski passing for 10 yds. to Nicholas
Sherman. Black worked Gold’s defense in the 3rd quarter however Gold
stopped them once again with some timely blitzes. With four minutes left
in the 3rd quarter, the Gold Team had a key possession that resulted in
numerous first downs and burned up a lot of time which helped minimize the
amount of time the Black team would have to try and tie the game. Gold’s
Defense held strong and prevented any hope of black entering the end zone
thus clenching gold’s 3rd victory in a row! Go Gold! We’ll missed Keegan
Hughes this week but we’ll be happy to see him back on the field next
week.

WEEK 3 107 PURPLE
TC-CHARGERS 112-Purple 7 VS TC-CHARGERS 112 Kaufman 0
The Middleweight Tri-City team of, JJ Reckards, Grant Schiewe, Bradley
Thomas, Scott Robak, Nick Buseski, Jack Wassel, Sean Chambers, Anthony
Lopez, Blake Saltsman, Will Porteous, Alex Bohanek, Matthew Ceinski, Timothy
Roels, Nicholas Barron and Jesse Martinez, started their winning streak by
beating a tough 112 Rick Kaufman team by a score of 7-0. The offense gained
a net 168 yards on 32 plays, while the defense held Kaufman’s team to a
positive 47 yards of total offense. Kaufman’s team took the opening kickoff
down to the Purple’s 47 yard line. The defense stiffened and held them to 4
and out. The two teams battled back and forth the entire 1st half and went
into halftime scoreless. The purple team started the 2nd half on their own
40 yard line. They held the ball the entire 3rd quarter and kept driving the
ball down the field. On several key passes from JJ Reckards to Tim Roels and
Blake Saltsman kept the drive alive. With hard running by Jack Wassel, Scott
Robak and Saltsman and great blocking by the offensive line of Roels, Nick
Buseski, Alex Bohanek, Will Porteous, Jesse Martinez and Saltsman made it
easier for our running backs to gain yardage. They would score early in the
4th quarter on a 6 yard romp by Scott Robak for a 6-0 lead. Reckards would
hit Roels on an out pass for the extra point for a 7-0- lead. Kaufman’s team
would drive the ball steadily down the field when they fumbled. The purple
would recover and on the 2nd play from scrimmage would also fumble.
Kaufman’s team never gave up and started a scary drive down the field
picking up 1st down after 1st down. Finally the Purple team would put up a
brick wall and stop the drive. The purple team took over with about 2
minutes left in the game. After gaining a 1st down they would take a knee on
2 plays to run out the clock and end the game with a 7-0 win. Some
highlights of the game were a fumble recovery late in the 4th quarter by
Alex Bohanek and by all accounts excellent blocking and tackling by Jesse
Martinez. We missed our starting running back Sean Chambers out with a
shoulder injury. Congrats to the other backs for stepping up. We continue to
get better every week Keep the faith. Things will get better! Remember:
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN TO TEAMS THAT BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!! PRACTICE
HARD WIN EASY!!!!!!!!! Great job Chargers! |
Week 3 107# Team
Leonhard
Tri-City Chargers
Leonhard - 0 vs. Tri-City Chargers Perry - 14
Although the team
wasn’t victorious, the defense played a tough, aggressive game, keeping
Team Perry from racking up even more points. In its first test in the
first quarter, the defense stymied Perry, helped by a sacking of the
quarterback by Mitch Davey. After the offense turned the ball over on
downs, the defense again gave Perry no chance, aided by Jake Hlava’s
sacking of the quarterback, Daniel Zielecki’s blocking of a pass, and
awesome tackling by Josh Leonhard. The biggest challenge came in the
final minutes of the first half when Team Perry was marching decisively
toward the end zone. When a runner broke loose and was headed to score,
Chris Impson raced across the field and pushed him out of bounds at the 18
yard line. Although Perry made it to the six yard line, a touchdown was
thwarted by the great tackling of Michael Hansen, Jacob Gabinski, Luke
Doncel, Tyler Camp, Robert Kudlicki and Kyle Lorenz. In the second half,
the defense kept up its good work when Gabinski intercepted a pass, ending
Perry’s first drive. Great tackling continued for the remainder of the
game, with a gang of players, including Luis Martinez, continuing to
thwart Perry’s efforts. On offense, linemen Nathan Ohse, Andrew Holzapfel,
Matt Weston, Davey, Kudlicki and Camp were able to hold their blocks to
allow several good runs by Leonhard, Impson, Hlava and Gabinski and to
allow Quarterback Lorenz to complete a couple of well thrown passes to
Gabinski. Here’s hoping for our continued progress to lead to a victory!
LET’S GO CHARGERS!

Week #3 107# Team Teafoe
Team Teafoe- 8 vs Team Birkhaug- 7
It was a hard fought victory in week #3 for Team Teafoe led by the strong
defense of Quinn Calcagno, Patrick Rosencrants, Jake Matula, Jack Schultz,
Jarrod Raap, Brandon Huff, Brett Hickey, Stratton Mortensen, Kyle Brown,
Vince Basile and Wyatt Teafoe.
With Team Birkhaugs strong offense they scored early in the game to put them
in the lead. With our team trailing 0-7 at the half, our boys came back
strong and hard the second half.
The offensive line led by Jonathan Boenzi, Ryan Perrotta, Spencer Sharpe,
Brandon Medder, Patrick Rosencrants, Jack Schultz, Kyle Brown, Stratton
Mortensen, Brett Hickey, Wyatt Teafoe and Brandon Huff grinded out tough
yards for the victory.
With the tough decision of Team Birkhaug taking a safety, it made the score
2-7 late in the 4th quarter.
In our final drive and in the last minutes of the game some key blocks were
made by our offense paving the way for Kyle Brown to run for a touchdown
putting us in the lead 8-7. Some tough defense by Team Birkhaug kept us from
scoring on the extra point.
On their final offensive play, our defense held strong as an interception
was made by Wyatt Teafoe to seal our victory!
We look forward to next week as it is our Homecoming! GO CHARGERS!

Week 3 Tri City Chargers Middleweight
Team Vruno 12- Team Gies 0
Back to the grindstone after a tough week 2 loss and on a beautiful
Saturday afternoon, team Vruno showed up ready to play in week 3. This game
offered a little bit of everything but featured a smash mouth running game
and a swarming aggressive defense that equaled Vruno’s second victory by a
final of 12-0. Although most of the game was on the ground John Helgeson
caught a pass for 5 yards from Q.B. J.J. Vruno. Justin Nebel led the ground
attack with 62 yards and had 2 rushing touchdowns, one he broke from 27
yards out. Helgeson also had a good day running with 58 yards on 11 carries.
The offensive line of Josh Black, Collin Stuhlmacher, Riley Kral, Grant
Schumock, and Evan Wiseman, paved the way for the running game and allowed
the offense to gain 188 total yards. The defensive play of Jack Housenga,
Cody Kronkow, Chris Davis, Mac Read, Andrew Modjeski, Matt Loberg, and Jack
Ahern shut down the Gies offensive allowing no points. Ahern also snagged an
interception early in the second and Helgeson wrestled his way to a team
leading 4.5 tackels on the day. The third quarter was controlled with a long
methodical drive that ate up the clock with 5 first downs and eventually
Nebels second touchdown of the day. The game was iced late in the fourth
when Gies had the ball 4th and long with under a minute to go, but Bret Reed
and Justin Nebel where there for the game clinching sack. The score was
close but the game was controlled by Team Vruno’s coaching staff and the
stamina from the players. Coach Vruno Said he was proud of the boys for
finishing strong and keeping the intensity for all four quarters. Team Vruno
is excited about this win but will turn the page and begin preparations for
Team Birkhaug next week.

Week2- 107# Big Ten
Tri-Cities-13 vs. Huntley-0
On a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon, the
107# Big Ten Chargers made it two-in-a-row, defeating Huntley on their own
turf, 13-0. Quarterback Reid Connolly demonstrated great leadership on the
field, passing for 39 yards including a 34 yard touchdown pass to wide
receiver TJ Miller. Nick Derr rushed for our second TD, with the extra
point being scored by Ramon Lopez, who really demonstrated the meaning of
extra effort. These two, along with RB Daniel Santacaterina, ran the ball
for a combined 90 yards, while the "Five Henchmen" O-Line, featuring Matt
Meyers, Alec Jacquot, John Vargyas, Brandon Marshall (back from an
injury), and Matt Leone held the Huntley defense at bay allowing zero
sacks all day.
The Tri-Cities defense also
dominated, holding Huntley to negative yards in the first half, and
allowing a meager eight total yards and only two first downs during the
entire game. Johnny Jimenez, Nick Traxler, Anthony Scaccia, and Mitchell
Riggs all registered "10's" on the Sack-O-Meter; while Nick Ferraro, Ryan
Navigato, Laren Eustace, Juddy Huxtable, and Ben Slattery took turns
pounding the Huntley backs and receivers into oblivion.
Huntley was a good team, but the Big Ten
Chargers were out to show what they are made of. The boys have scored 31
unanswered points in their first two regular season games, but will be
working on refining their game even further in the coming week. Look for
them to take it to the next level on Sunday against Libertyville. Go
Chargers!

Week 3 - Team Perry 14 vs. Team Leonhard 0
When your offense, defense and special teams all plays exceptionally you are
going to win. That was the case this past week with Team Perry. All 3 units
gave it their all and proved that they are a team to be reckoned with. Team
Perry beats Team Leonhard 14-0. The offense is keeping the other team on
their toes by showing that we can gain yards with the pass or run. The
offensive linemen Erik Boehmer, Lance Arni, DJ Rizzi, Jacob Asquini, Luke
Juriga allowed Tyler Lovestrand good pass blocking for tight ends Charlie
Tortorice and Caleb Sanchez along with the wide receiver Brock Perry and
opened holes for the running backs Nick Edlund, Matt Fisher, Anthony Adduci
and Kyle Khoury. In the 2nd quarter Anthony Adduci ran for 16 yards to get a
touchdown. Right before half on 4th down Edlund had a huge break away run
for 40 yards. Later on Edlund runs for an incredible 80 yard touchdown in
the 2nd quarter. That touchdown set up Lance Arni for the seasons first
extra point kick. Lovestrand threw some great passes including one 19 yard
pass to Brock Perry to gain some yardage and the 1st down in the 3rd
quarter. The defense shut out Team Leonhard causing 3 fumbles, 3 punts and
numerous penalties with their hard work. The defensive line consists of
Tommie Fink, Alex Filipos, Ben Strah, Luke Juriga, Lance Arni. The corner
backs are Tyler Lovestrand and Kyle Khoury and at safety is Brock Perry.
Linebackers are Matt Fisher, Nick Edlund and Anthony Adduci. Fisher and Fink
pressed hard and had some big hits and hard tackles. Strah added some power
with a great sack in the 3rd quarter. Coach Perry, Adduci, Juriga and
Tortorice were pleased to see their team win again this season.
|
Week #3 Team Donatelli 6
vs. Team McDonald 0
The difference in
Saturday's game was Purple Team's tenacious Defense lead by hard hitting
linebacker crew of Michael Donatelli, Ryan Fleck, Zach LaFave, and
Trevor Rzeszutko. The Purple Defense stopped the White Team from
gaining too many yards running and broke up their passes, including a
pass interception by LaFave. The Defensive Line of Matt Barr, Evan
Kroncke, Daniel Stueland and Sullivan "Sulley" Swartwood worked together
to plug holes on the line. In the back field corner-backs and safety's
Ryan Stangle, Shay Barney and Eli Buck helped keep the White Team from
scoring. Coach Donatelli credits Buck with an amazing tackle which
stopped a quick White player from hitting the open field to score.
Purple Offense led by QB
Ryan Fleck did a great job moving the ball. O-Line made up of Cody
Beebe, Matt Barr, Christopher Nimick, Evan Kroncke, Daniel Stueland,
Ryan Stangle and Shay Barney stopped blitzes and created holes to allow
running backs Donatelli, LaFave and Rzeszutko to pick up many yards.
The whole Purple Offense including great key blocks by the backs allowed
Fleck to run the ball for the only TD scored. Missing this week were
Cole Depaul and Joey Tufo, we hope they feel better and will be back
with their team next week! Well done PURPLE! GO CHARGERS!!
