Week 2 Flag Gold
Tri
City Gold vs. West Chicago Blue
Week 2 provided yet another example of
complete dominance by the Gold Team. Our
defense opened in the Gold formation and our
starting defensive line of Taylor ,
Birdsong, El-Sherif, Mack, Arrambide, and
Sweet controlled the line of scrimmage and
prevented any successful rushes up the
middle. Our starting linebackers of Buza,
Rupp, and Pantano swarmed to the ball
carrier and shut down any attempts to rush
around the outside. As was the case in Week
1, the defense set the tone of the game by
stopping West Chicago for a 2 yard loss on
their first play from scrimmage. After the
change of possession, our Gold offense
carried this momentum straight to the end
zone on our opening drive of the game. The
offensive line of Taylor, Dunklau, Sweet,
Little and Domenz, provided huge running
lanes for our backfield to work their magic.
Rupp, Pantano, Buza, and Arrambide were
quick to take advantage. The second half
brought out our Green formation on both
sides of the ball, and this formation was
equally as impressive. Pantano, Mack, Rupp,
El-Sherif and Arrambide dominated up front
and allowed Sweet, Birdsong, Taylor, and
Domenz to march down the field for an
opening drive score. The Green defensive
line of El-Sherif, Buza, Arrambide, Mack,
Pantano, and Dunklau as well as the
linebacker core of Domenz, Birdsong, and
Little, put pressure on West Chicago the
entire second half. The game ended with
touchdown runs by Buza, Rupp, Arrambide, and
Taylor , and extra point conversions by
Dunklau and Sweet. 1-2-3 GO GOLD!!!

Hanson Chargers 19 Tolle Chargers 0
The Tri-City Chargers (Team Hanson) moved to 2-0 with their win over the
Tolle Chargers on Saturday. Team Hanson took full advantage of 4 turnovers
in their pursuit of another victory. 41-S James Hanson recovered 2 fumbles
on kickoffs, picked off a pass, and 99-DT Tyler Baker also recovered a
fumble. The Hanson Chargers ended the day +3 in the turnover margin which
was critical to the win. Team Hanson controlled the field position battle
throughout the 1st Quarter culminating in a 2-yard touchdown run by 51-RB
Tommy Surges early in the 2nd. (Team Hanson) took the ball on its opening
possession of the 2nd half and drove 57yards for a touchdown. 41-RB James
Hanson capped off the drive with a 4-yard run. 9-QB Liam Drummond converted
the P-A-T. 51-Surges iced the game with a 32-yard romp in the 4th Quarter.
However, the story of the day was the defense. They had their 2nd shutout in
as many games. They have bent several times but they have not broken. 99-DT
Tyler Baker, 28-DT Dan Gallagher, DE-57 John East, and DE-5 Mark Riley has
been solid up front. OLB-66 Gabe Folino, OLB-44 Lucas Rolf, ILB-51 Tommy
Surges, and ILB-90 Jake Baxa have been venting their frustrations out on
opponents over the last 8 quarters with some hard hitting. 9-CB Liam
Drummond, 82-CB Josh Fisher, 15-S Grant Belich and 41-S James Hanson have
cleaned up behind their teammates for 8 very special quarters of defense.

Week2 80# Team 6 Vegas Gold
Tri City Chargers (Team 6) - 13 vs. Tri City Chargers 7
The Vegas Gold Chargers picked up there first win of the year. Strong
running from J.B. Sandlund led to two rushing touch downs for him and
the Vegas Gold Chargers. Also having a good day running were Dave
Madden and Cayman Vieau each having twenty plus rushing yards. The
offensive frontline of Dan Kelly, Jack Davis, Jacob Cross, Jake Mroz,
Matt Mcgraw, Ethan Preece, and Mitch Mascari opened up holes for the
runs to take place in. The strong front line defense play of Chase
White, Matt Spurling, Dan Kelly, Kevin Kaschke, and Mitch Mascari kept
the inside rushing yards to a minimum. Mitch Mascari caused and
recovered a fumble for the 2nd game in a row. The linebacking trio of
Jake Mroz, Cayman Vieau, and Dave Madden shut down any plays that did
make it past the front line. Safety J.B. Sandlund once again recorded
double digit tackles, at the corners Pier Ricossa and Alex White helped
keep the outer running and passing game at a minimum. The game was tied
at 7 to 7 for over three quarters of the game and the second score from
the Vegas Gold Chargers came with 1:33 to go in the game, up 13 to 7 the
defense played strong to the finish and enjoyed there victory.

Week 2 97# Dase Purple
Dase - 0 Skibinski - 19
It was hot and humid for the 2d regular season game and the Defense
really made the opposition sweat for every point. All the boys played hard
on both Offense and Defense. On Offense #7 Bernie Pellissier, #11 Cogan
Cavish, #34 Donny Friedel, #20 Alex Fortcamp, #24 Steve MacDonald, #36
Mitchell Adams, #36 Greg Dase, #51 Noah Legenski, #80 Derek Raya, #87 Devin
Chrobak, #99 Nathan Kroll tried hard to establish their running game and
mixing in some pass plays, but we were kept out of the endzone that day. At
halftime we were down 13 - 0, and not out of it despite the final score.
Coach Skibinski's team ran a misdirection offense, but our Defense #7 Bernie
Pellissier, #11 Cogan Cavish, #16 Dylan Baer, #20 Alex Fortcamp, #29 Luke
Sutherland, #34 Donny Friedel, #36 Greg Dase, #44 Grant Romero, #47 Adam
Huber, #51 Noah Legenski, #54 Austin Esposito, and #80 Derek Raya shut them
down the second half allowing them to reach the endzone once. Although our
boys were not victorious, they were only penalized once during the game. Our
team will train hard this week and be back Saturday to face team Rapp. GO
CHARGERS!!! |
TC-Coach Soto "Silver"- 7 vs. TC-Coach Griffin- 19
Well, you can't win'em all, but you can go out on the field every game
and give it your best shot. That's exactly what Soto's "Silver" machine did
this past Saturday as they faced Coach Griffin's team in a hard fought 19-7
loss. The defense came out to the field ready to show the opponent what they
were made of. Keeping a hawks eye watch, J. Soto, N.Stich, C. Raap, N.
Sablowski, J. Fischbach, I. Baerenklau, A. Keating, J. Brummel, J. Glavin,
D. Morgan, L. Yeargin and J. Kibler all were quick off the line with gutsy
defensive performances. The confidence of "Silver" was shown by some
outstanding blocking and the sound of helmets crashing into eachother.
Despite the shouts of the opponents sidelines, the offense was ready to take
the field to push through to the end zone. This was made possible by our
work-house offensive line, D. Morgan, J. Glavin, J. Brummel, B. Hansen, R.
Anderson, N. Bruns, I. Baerenklau, J. Fischbach, C. Raap, N. Stich and J.
Soto all worked together to give QB Nathan Sablowski the perfect chance to
handoff the ball to running back Alec Keating for an impressive visit to the
endzone. To complete the quarter Justin "Fisch" Fischbach scored the extra
point with ease.
The crushing determination of Isaiah Baerenklau produced him 11 outstanding
tackles to lead the team as well as powerhouse Dylan Morgan with an amazing
7 tackles. Happy to not be the smallest on the team, Jordan Soto with 7
tackles was like a bull waiting to charge his matador with the way he was
tackling his opponent.
Although this game will go in the "loss" column, this will be considered a
"win", due to the heart and soul the boys put in and never gave up til the
bitter end. Coach Soto, Coach Brummel, Coach Baerenklau, along with the
players walked off the field knowing they played with the utmost
sportsmanship and pride.
We look forward to practicing hard, getting tougher and facing our opponents
in the upcoming weeks with enthusiam

Week 2 97LB AFC WHITE (Estrada)
Estrada (White) - 0 vs. Rapp (Green) - 19
Our White team showed desire, improvement and continued learning in our
second game. White played tough the entire game, and the final score does
not indicate how close the game was, thanks to three broken plays. Blocks
from the offensive line of Trace Debord (C), Cade Olinger (G), Aidan Flynn
(G), Cody Johnson (T, who also had a solid punt), and Matt Julseth (T),
along with ends Charlie Downing and Joel Hardy, allowed for an improved
running game by hole-hitting backs Austin Gift, Abe Swanson, and Nick Funk
(and Matt Julseth was rewarded with a carry for “making weight” with a week
of a bread and water diet). Quarterback Jack Morgan had a good day throwing,
but some dropped passes hurt his stats. Outside of the three broken plays,
the White defense demonstrated marked progress from the prior week, filling
gaps and wrapping up tackles. The defense was lead by gap-plugging tackle
Kevin Weaver, along with Julseth, Morgan, Funk, Joel Hardy who got four
tackles, and Jack Nitti who got three, including two sacks. Corners Chris
Galena and Swanson effectively shut down the passing game. We missed two of
our top performers, FB and LB Kyle King, whose broken arm will sideline him
for at least four weeks, and Alex Drumheller, who was sick. We look forward
to continued improvement and skill development in the weeks to come… GO

Week 2 97#
P10 Gold
Tri City
Chargers (Gold)-19 vs. Tri City Chargers (Purple) – 0
Today our
team was able to capture another proud victory. First possession, the
Gold offense came out with some great running by Nicholas Sherman and
Griffin Bellano. The defense of Tristan Bolin, Matthew Peruba, Jon
Chapman, Nicholas Sherman, Ryan Skibinski, Ryan St. Peter, William Gibson,
Nick Anastasia, Dominic Cosentino, Griffin Bellano and Keegan Hughes came
out and stopped Purple three and out! Gold took over with two minutes
left in the first quarter with a handoff to Ryan Skibinski for a 32 yard
TD. Liam Kelly kicked off. The first play of the second quarter Griffin
Bellano intercepted the football and returned it to the 30 yd. line.
Matthew Peruba ran an 18 yard TD with 7:09 left in the 2nd
quarter. Ryan Skibinski’s pass to Nicholas Sherman was complete for the
extra point. Ryan Skibinski, Griffin Bellano, and Nick Anastasia did a
great job tackling and also recovering a fumble. Keegan Hughes had a great
quarterback pressure. Brendan Feichter and Aaron Housenga on offense had
another great week of blocking creating holes for the running backs.
Offense had a nice drive with Griffin Bellano scoring the third
touchdown. Jon Chapman was back on the field this week pressuring the
quarterback and also causing a fumble in the game. Dominic Cosentino and
William Gibson continued to break thru the line with their bear crawl.
Tristan Bolin did a great job of stripping the ball. Back on Offense
William Gibson, Tristan Bolin, Brian Baumgartner, Liam Kelly and William
Matthews were able to move the ball and take time off the clock. Defense
stayed strong and was able to stop Purple from scoring. Gold is excited
for Saturday’s game and plan to bring their teamwork back to the field!

Week2 97# Rawson Silver
Rawson Silver -0 vs.
Wilcox - 28
You know it is going to
be a tough game when you are going up against last year’s defending
Featherweight Super Bowl champs. It appears that Team Wilcox will be very
tough again. They gave our Silver Falcons a real battle.
Julian Desens, Jack
Hood, Jake Chantos, and Cameron Canales all made important tackles to slow
down the opponent’s scoring drives. William Fredericks made an excellent
tackle after one of our punts. Jackson Kemple, Jason Turnbull, Jack
Doherty, Kyle Duermit and Mario Folino applied additional defensive
pressure.
Our offensive squad
continued to work hard. Michael Rawson had a real nice run thanks to the
blocks of Jimmy Fleck, Connor Williams, Peter Eshbaugh and Stephen
Woodcock. Justin Johnson and Chris Holloway did a real nice job of
receiving and advancing kick offs.
We may have ended up on
the wrong end of a 28-0 score, but we are very proud of our team for
fighting hard the entire game and never giving up.
|
Week 2 97# Stallmann - Gold
Stallmann - 14 vs Bonbreake - 13
The half-time score of 7-0 showed how Team Gold dominated the field during
the 1st half, constantly gaining yards on offense and rarely giving up
yards on defense. All the players worked hard and made a difference,
especially when the opposing team rallied in the 2nd half. On offense #3
Justin Galante did well managing the offense and getting 1st downs as well
as a TD with support from #62 Jake Kappel and #70 Clark Hageman on the
O-line #24 Sam Grohe had some huge runs including a pass play for 30 yards
and a TD. #1 Tyler Welter and #34 John Luna both got extra points. On
defense #36 Sean Gallagher recovered a fumble. #99 Ryan Goodmiller forced a
fumble. #80 Graham Owen had 2 great kick offs. #7 Bobby Pierce stopped a
big play preventing a TD. #44 Cole Weede, #54 Brady Anderson, #29 Alec
Welter all had tackles with assitance from #11 Jay Stallmann and #16 Matthew
Townsend on the D-Line.

Week 2 107# Team Leonhard
Tri-City Chargers Leonhard – 7 vs. Tri-City Chargers Kaufman – 26
On a beautiful summer day, the team again took the field missing several
of its players. Although Luke Doncel (#20) and Mitch Davey (#61) will
probably be ready to play next weekend, Joey Meyers (#40), our seasoned
center, may well be out for the rest of the season and will be sorely
missed. The game started with our team receiving the kick-off. Although
there was a fumble on the reception, Luis Martinez (#46) swooped in and
recovered the ball. When the starting offense consisting of quarterback Kyle
Lorenz (#7); center Daniel Zielecki (#55); offensive linemen Michael Hansen
(#87), Nathan Ohse (#60), Matthew Weston (#79), Andrew Holzapfel (#65),
Robert Kudlicki (#82) and Tyler Camp (#91); and backs Jake Gabinski (#2),
Josh Leonhard (#25) and Jake Hlava (#33) took the field, they did not make
much progress against Kaufman’s aggressive defense. This brought the defense
– linemen Hlava, Kudlicki, Martinez, Holzapfel, Michael Hansen (#87), and
Camp; cornerbacks Chris Impson (#12) and Connor Bingham (#17); linebackers
Zielicki and Leonhard; and safety Lorenz – onto the field. Despite their
best efforts, Team Kaufman scored two touchdowns and two extra points in the
first quarter. With our offense making little progress, Kaufman’s team
continued its momentum into the second quarter. Altho ugh they eventually
scored another touchdown, the defense stymied their efforts for a quick
score and did not allow them to convert the extra point. In the third
quarter, running back Hlava racked up some good yards and Camp captured a
well-thrown pass. Impson, who came in when Camp was injured, got two back to
back first downs. In the fourth quarter, after Kaufman had scored another
time, the slaughter rule went into effect. Starting from the 20 yard line,
Impson, after running the ball for two good carries, was able to scramble
into the end zone for the first touchdown of the season. The score became
26-7 when Leonhard converted the extra point. Special mention to Lorenz, who
tackled an opponent to prevent a touchdown. Let’s hope next week is a
victory! LET’S GO CHARGERS!!! |
Week1- 107# Big Ten
Tri-Cities-18 vs. Oak Park-0
The 107# Big Ten Chargers opened up their
regular season on Sunday with a convincing 18-0 home victory over Oak
Park. Quarterback Reid Connolly showed great composure, completing two
touchdown passes to sure handed receiver, TJ Miller, and handing off to RB
Ramon Lopez for one rushing TD. Running back Daniel Santacaterina also
racked up big yards, including a 68 yarder that set up the Chargers' first
TD. The "Five Henchmen" O-Line, featuring Matt Meyers, Alec Jacquot, John
Vargyas, Matt Leone, and Ryan Navigato, held tough for the entire game,
allowing the Chargers offense to execute effectively. Our only close call
occurred on an interception, but RB Laren Eustace chased down the OP
defender to prevent the score.
The Tri-Cities defense also
dominated, holding Oak Park to only two first downs all day. Lead by
Johnny Jimenez, Anthony Scaccia, and Mitchell Riggs, they pummeled OP's
offense, delivering punishing tackles and dropping several OP runners in
the backfield. In the secondary, Judson Huxtable and Nick
Ferraro blanketed receivers and repeatedly batted down passes. Nick
Traxler and Nick Derr also took turns living in the OP backfield, while
Anthony Scaccia and Ben Slattery both grabbed interceptions.
The well conditioned Big Ten Chargers looked
as strong at the end of the game as they did in the first quarter, playing
well on both sides of the ball and on special teams. Oak Park was no
slouch team, but the Chargers showed they wanted it more. The boys missed
the play of injured Henchman Brandon Marshall, but anxiously look forward
to next Sunday as they get ready to play their first away game vs.Huntley.

Kaufman 26 vs Leonhard 7
After coming off a massive 26-0 preseason game win, as well as shutting
out their opponent in their opener in week 1 12-0, coach Kaufman brought his
high powered offense into week 2 hoping for more of the same.
And he got it quick and early with 2 scores in the first quarter with a
nifty pass from QB Jacob Ludwig to RB John LeGare for a TD and then LeGare
blasting his way to the end zone for their second score breaking tackles to
get there. TE Ryan Hurley added the extra point with a secure grab on a pass
from Ludwig.
RB Nick Schutz later added to the point total with a slashing 55 yd
scamper for a TD and Ludwig finished off the offensive show on TD run.
All of this was made possible by the outstanding O Line blocking from
Tyler Smith, Reier Groven, Augie Nottolini, Tommy Pullia and Austin Cohen.
The D was anchored by the line backing core of Nick Shutz, Parker Vidmich
in the middle and Drew Egger, who stuffed the Leonhard offense and allowed
only 1 score by their opponent.
NG Timmy Clohecy, Mitchell Cady and Ricky Kaufman stood strong on D and
Kaufman got into the backfield mid way through the second half to cause and
recover a fumble that set up the last scoring drive. Jacob Seng at safety
made certain there would only be 1 score by their opponent and Jake Hursh
made certain of that as well with a second half interception.
The team eagerly awaits the return of injured player Joey Davis and is
anxious to test their 2-0 record against their next opponent when they go up
against a strong team coached by Brad Satzman this Saturday.
|
Team McMillan - 25 vs. Team Vruno - 7
In week 2, Team Vruno was humbled by Team McMillan after a week 1
victory. The score did not dictate how close the game really was and there
were many positive things to take away from their loss. Justin Nebel leapt,
scampered, and stretched his way into the end zone early in the first
quarter from 6 yards out. Matthew Loberg led the rushing charge with 37
yards. Jack Ahern also ran the ball well and fell on a fumble in the fourth
quarter. Bret Reed had a 15 yard return on a kickoff. On the defensive side
Jack Housenga played like a beast with a team leading 6 tackles. Andrew
Modjeski made his presence known with 3 tackles. Grant Schumock stuffed an
extra point attempt before the half. The progress on Team Vruno is evident
and the fight and heart is fierce. Kudos to the offensive and deffensive
lines made up of JJ Vruno, Cody Kronkow, Josh Black, Mac Read, Riley Kral,
Colin Stuhlmacher, and Evan Wisem an for never giving up and fighting hard
in a tough battle. Team Vruno will look forward to John Helgeson's return
next week as they take on Team Geis.

WEEK1 107 PURPLE
TC-CHARGERS
112-Purple 6 VS TC-CHARGERS 112 Teafoe
20
The Middleweight
Tri-City team of, JJ Reckards, Grant Schiewe, Bradley Thomas, Scott Robak,
Nick Buseski, Jack Wassel, Sean Chambers, Anthony Lopez, Blake Saltsman,
Will Porteous, Alex Bohanek, Matthew Ceinski, Timothy Roels, Nicholas
Barron and Jessie Martinez, started the new season with a 20 to 6 loss
against a good TC-Chargers Teafoe team. The offense started the game by
driving the ball down the field with ease when several mistakes stalled
our progress. It went back and forth several time before Teafoe’s team
finally scored going ahead 6-0. They converted the extra point for a 7-0
lead. Our offense would continue to stall due to poor execution. Teafoe’s
team would again put a drive together and score to make it 13-0. They
again would convert the extra point for a 14-0 lead. After the half the
offense would drive down field and would finally score on a 35 yard pass
play from JJ Reckards to Blake Saltsman for a 14-6 score. We would fail on
the conversion. Teafoe’s team would score again late in the game for a
20-6 lead. The defense would keep them from making the extra point. The
game ended when coach Teafoe would have his team take a knee with about 2
minutes left in the game. A very classy move which shows good
sportsmanship. Even though we were not victorious we did a lot of things
right. The turning point was when our stating running back Sean Chambers
injured his shoulder and was forced to sit out the rest of the game. Then
injuries to our quarterback JJ Reckards made the situation even worse.
Overall we ended up pretty banged up. This week will require more focus on
the things we did right and the things we did bad. Keep the faith. Things
will get better! Remember:
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN TO
TEAMS THAT BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!! PRACTICE HARD WIN

Great job Chargers!

Week #2
Bantam House League
Team
Green Cavish vs. Team Black
The
Green Cavish Team was met with a beautiful Saturday morning to go in
pursuit of their first victory of the season against Team Black. After
winning the coin toss, Team Black was able to drive the ball for an
opening touchdown, in spite of solid tackles by Jeremy Baranauskas, Ben
Bohanek, Kyler Cavish and Kain Donohoo. On the ensuing kickoff, Team
Green marched for a first down on the strength of a 6 yard run by Ben
Bohanek, followed by a 15 yard scamper by quarterback, Tyler Hahn. Team
Green muscled the ball deep into Team Black territory on runs by Michael
Davis; however, the drive was stalled by a determined Team Black defense.
Leading up to halftime, both teams traded possessions while yielding
little yardage and no points. Team Green, led by Jack Lewis’ pass rush of
the quarterback and a swarming “D” line halted any momentum by Team
Black. The 3rd quarter began and ended with Team Green
controlling the ball and advancing deep into the Team Black zone. Strong
runs by Kyler Cavish, Michael Davis and Ben Bohanek drove the ball down to
Team Black’s 2 yard line where the drive stalled on a 4th and
goal. Team Black’s final drive of the game was thwarted by a tireless
Team Green defense and highlighted with a Kyler Cavish TD saving tackle.
Team Green took possession of the ball, however, could not mount an attack
before the game clock ran down. While Team Black came out on top 7-0,
both teams were evenly matched and provided great excitement for the fans
in a hard fought battle. Team Green’s efforts prove very encouraging
leading into next week’s match up.

Week2 TCC Middleweight Team Perry
Team Perry 6 vs. Team Gies 12
Team Perry played a tough game Saturday showing strong
defense but time wasn't on our side.
We had some big plays and tough first downs but it didn't prove
enough in the last minute loss.
Defense was once again solid with some big tackles by #16 Alex Filipos,
#36 Nick Edlund, #77 Luke Juriga and a big sack by #80 Charlie Tortorice.
We had a great interception by #34 Kyle Khoury and stopping some big runs
was #20 Brock Perry.
Special Teams had another fantastic game with #51 Lance Arni kicking 2
times between 25 and 30 yards and just barely missing the try for extra
point. The rest of the team kept the run back to a minimum and showed some
great blocking on the punt to protect #20 Brock Perry on some successful
punts.
Offense put 6 points on the board but it wasn't enough to win. QB #3 Tyler
Lovestrand did another great job putting some points on the board with a
couple of key QB runs. #34 Kyle Khoury, #36 Nick Edlund and #39 Anthony
Adduci ran the ball well but just couldn't penetrate Team Gies defense for
a break through. #20 Brock Perry had a couple of nice catches, one for a
first down.
Other players contributing to another strong week protecting the
quarterback and the run block are #62 DJ Rizzi, #7 Jacob Asquini, #47 Erik
Boehmer, #54 Tommie Fink, #1 Kaleb Sanchez, #99 Strah, #44 Fisher.
#24 Jacob Clodi is out for 4-6 weeks after breaking a finger in last weeks
game. We'll miss his speed and wish him a speedy recovery.
GO CHARGERS TEAM PERRY!
